Julio Augusto Zachrisson (Panama, 1930) is a Panamanian painter and engraver. He began his studies at the National School of Painting. In his first years he made several trips to Central American countries to expand his artistic knowledge. Finally, he settled in Mexico where he began to study at the National Institute of Fine Arts, sparking his interest in Mexican muralism
Later he moved to Madrid to study at the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando. During his time in Spain, he developed all his artistic production, touching on the myths of oriental culture, indigenous legends and his native city, Panama.
His work is part of important collections such as the National Library of Spain, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Madrid, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Latin America, Museum of Modern Art and Metropolitan Museum.
